The show, which tells the backstory of Cassian Andor, a Rebel spy introduced in Rogue One, was always planned to run for two seasons. In an interview with The Associated Press, Luna said that he knew from the start that Andor would only be two seasons long. “It was always the plan,” he said. “We knew that we had to tell a certain story in a certain amount of time.”

Luna said that he is “sad” to see the show end, but that he is also “proud” of what the team has accomplished. “We have told a very complex story,” he said. “We have explored the character of Cassian Andor in a way that I think is very satisfying.”Andor’s Diego Luna Talks About the ‘Inevitable’ End to the Series

Luna said that he is not sure what the future holds for Andor, but he is open to the possibility of more stories. “I would love to continue telling stories in this universe,” he said. “But for now, I am just happy with what we have done.”

The second season of Andor is currently in production and is scheduled to premiere in August 2024.
