Kerala State Film Awards 2023 List
The 53rd Kerala State Film Awards were announced on July 21, 2023, by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. The awards were presented by Kerala Minister for Cultural Affairs Saji Cherian. The jury was headed by Bengali film director and screenwriter Goutam Ghose.

- Best Director: Mahesh Narayanan (Ariyippu)
- Best Actor: Mammootty (Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam)
- Best Actress: Vincy Aloshious (Pada)
- Best Supporting Actor: Indrans (Nna Thaan Case Kodu)
- Best Supporting Actress: Nimisha Sajayan (Pada)
- Best Child Artist: Anju Aravind (Pallotty 90’s Kid)
- Best Music Director: Bijibal (Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam)
- Best Lyricist: Rafeeq Ahamed (Oru Thekkan Thallu Case)
- Best Screenplay (Original): Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval (Nna Thaan Case Kodu)
- Best Screenplay (Adapted): Rajesh Kumar R (Oru Thekkan Thallu Case)
- Best Cinematography: Maneesh Madhavan (Ela Veezha Poonchira)
- Best Editing: Shameer Muhammed (Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam)
- Best Sound Design: Renji Panicker (Ariyippu)
- Best Costume Design: Renjith Raveendran (Pada)
- Best Makeup: Pramod Thomas (Ariyippu)
- Best Production Design: Gokul Das (Ariyippu)
- Special Jury Mention (Screenplay): Kamal KM (Pada)
- Special Jury Mention (Direction): Biswajith S (Appan) and Rarish G (Iratta)
- Special Award in Any Category for Women/Transgender: Shruthi Sharanyam (Pada)

Mammootty is the most awarded actor in the history of the Kerala State Film Awards, with six wins. He is followed by Mohanlal, who has won five awards. Vincy Aloshious is the first transgender actress to win a Kerala State Film Award.
